Our agent is RICS registered, but they're not giving us very good service and we want to complain. We're not sure what being RICS registered means or what levels of service they are supposed to provide. We've asked them to tell us, but they've REFUSED to give us a copy of their guidelines. HELP!!!!!

OMG, I didn't see that part. That confirms my views on this agent. I'll be getting rid for sure now. Thanks again. S
Hi Sarah,
It is certainly not good behaviour, especially as the guidelines themselves state:
You can complain about this behaviour by reporting them to RICS at http://www.rics.org/uk/regulation1/complaints1/make-a-complaint/
Let us know how you get on.
That's great. Thank you so much. I really don't know what they were trying to achieve by not giving this to us themselves. S
Hi Sarah,
Sorry to hear that you are having issues.
That's pretty underhanded of your agent to refuse to share the standards to which they are supposed to adhere. It sounds like they've got something to hide!
Anyway, here is the documentation that you need:
http://www.rics.org/Global/Service_charge_residential_management_code_PGguidance_3rd_edition_2016.pdf
We hope you find it useful.
